Thoughts

Métier was made alongside the episodes "Breathe...", "Specific Heat Capacity" (part 1), and "My Tell-Tale Heart". This new schedule was why "Breathe..." ended up so short.
Learning to make two episodes at once was a pretty big challenge and hurdle, as, back when we were making the cancelled side series, "Control Tower", it was really draining and almost an impassible challenge to actually get the side episode done at the same time as the main episodes.
This time around, I think we managed to handle it a lot better, and I think the quality of the episode benefits from that, especially since, when starting "My Tell-Tale Heart", we started using a more detailed style of rendering, which takes time to work through, and took even more time to learn.
About That
Some people who have been around for a long time may have seen releases of "Control Tower", or may have seen it looking back through the Discord's #comic-news channel. It was removed from the site pretty much without warning around September or October this year.
The reason for this is that, while I was able to make the episodes, making a story themed around the real people who play the characters - the 'control tower workers' - led to a pretty big hurdle that I think a lot of productions in this genre face; that people come and go. People who work on the comic may leave, in which case their place would need to be removed posthumously, or people may join the comic crew, which would require us to conflate the story with new characters that really did not add much.
For example, Episode 4, which went unreleased, featured a crew member (who has since left) as a major character, with a contrived role as being the disguise of another, current crew member. This sort of thing was becoming more and more common, and I felt that it was not a good direction to take the story in.
So, after some thought, I decided to remove the series from the site. It was a hard decision, but I think it was the right one. It's important to remember that 99% of people who work on this comic are teenagers. Right now, the lead artist is 17 years old. Even if personal drama is not involved, sometimes people are too busy to work on the comic anymore or simply aren't driven to when they have so much going on.
In any case, while "Control Tower" was good, humorous fun, writing that kind of thing is something we now prefer to include in "Love Kills", which technically also includes Urn and (later) Toybox, who are still the personas of real people (though, one of them is highly loyal to me, and the other is highly loyal to that person), but also has story relevance and gives deeper insight into a part of the world that's harder to communicate through the comic itself, which takes place in a world slightly immediately after the (in universe) intentional collapse of the structure Love Kills focuses on.
Anyway, thank you for reading Métier : Love Kills. I hope you enjoy it!
