Mutual Interest | Ft. Affogato, Strikes, and Cafe
"An instant."

An object is seen at a desk in a classroom. A poster with labels towards a letter block object's therian features is seen in the background. The same object is seen in their bed the next morning with an unwilling expression in their face and a phone charging on the nightstand next to their bed. The object, named Avery, also known as Affogato, aged 19, pronouns she/her and they/them, thinks to herself, "I'm... tired."
Avery continues to think as she gets ready to go out, putting on shoes and a backpack. "It feels like nothing's ever gonna change... It's always school. Back to the apartment... Work. Avery's thoughts are interrupted as someone behind her shouts, "Wait!" and she turns around to see them.
Avery thinks "and..." Cafe, also known as Lora, age 17, with she/her pronouns, says "Wait for me!!!" Affogato continues "My energetic, little sister Lora." Lora runs down the stairs and slips, screaming as she begins to fall.
As Lora trips and falls down the stairs, she shouts, "AVERY!!!" Avery cries out, "Hm- HHUH?" and switches into her therian form in panic. Lora has a face of intense fear as she falls to the bottom.
A loud crash is heard. Cut to black. Later that evening, Avery is sobbing.
A mystery object with shrouded eyes is seen talking. "I know how hard it is. It's okay to cry." The object is standing behind Avery as they continue, "I don't know you... but I'm here for you. Because I knew her."
Avery sobs and chokes up as the object behind her, Lance, also known as Strikes, aged 21, pronouns they/them and he/him, comforts her more. "Affogato... It's not your fault. I'm sorry. I wish there was something we could do."
As Avery wallows, a voice with no discernable source speaks to her, stunning her. "Grant a wish... Play a game... Last object standing."
