Episode 28 : Accursed Panacea

"That freeing feeling."

It is raining outside. Kate is sitting on a bed grumpy. Gloomy jumps onto the bed and asks "You don't like the cold huh?"
Kate answers "What gave you THAT impression?" Gloomy says "Y'know the tail and the... Hey! Maybe you'll warm up if you feed again!" Kate looks surprised.
Kate responds "You say that like you WANT me to!" Gloomy now wrapped up in a large blanket says "I mean... I sure don't want you to starve." Kate shouts "UGH!!!" and pushes Gloomy away.
Kate leaves and Gloomy asks "...Where are you going?" She responds "To the shower." and he replies "Ohh you're stressed out again! Okay!" Kate goes into the shower and turns it on.
As the shower runs Kate taps her foot inside the tub flies up and clings onto the shower curtain rod.
Kate hangs upside down as she falls asleep the shower still running.
Kate wakes up to see Gloomy in the doorway of the bathroom. He asks "Do you hate me?" Kate replies "Ugh... NO!"
Later Gloomy and Kate are sitting together. Gloomy asks "You want to feel better right?" Kate scoffs "Pfft. Who doesn't?" Gloomy pulls out a sugar cube and says "You should try these!" Kate confused asks "A... sugar cube?" Gloomy spikes the sugar cube with a drug.
Gloomy says "Trust me! You gotta try it!" as he feeds her the sugar cube. Kate begins to see stars and colors and thinks to herself "What... WHAT WAS IN THAT SUGAR CUBE?"
Kate looks around at all the warping colors and stars for a moment before falling down.
When she looks up she sees Willa. She cheerfully says "It's okay Kathy! I never meant to hurt you!" Kate responds "My name is Kate." She turns to Gloomy and asks "...What did you GIVE ME?"
As Gloomy looks cheerful next to Kate she falls to her hands and knees and mutters "It... feels good. Gloomy... Gloomy... Gloomy, I... missed..."
Kate can be seen in a regularly colored version of Gloomy's bedroom sitting in the corner. Gloomy concernedly asks "Kate?" She responds "Oh, Gloomy... You're my best friend... in the, the WHOLE wide world." Gloomy's eyes light up in delight.
Later Gloomy asks "So how do you feel?" Kate answers "...Better."
Kate swoops up to hang on something as she continues "...But you and I are NOT FRIENDS." Gloomy responds "...Oh."
That night while Gloomy sleeps Kate digs through a paper grocery bag as he sleeps. She finds a bottle of alcohol. Text at the bottom reads "To be continued..."
