Episode 32 : Specific Heat Capacity - Part 2

Monroe is curled up in a blanket. Avery enters the room and asks "Fern?" She walks up to him and feels his face as he wakes.
Monroe rubs his eyes and asks "What time is it...?" Avery responds "Um not sure. It took me a while to get used to Lance's schedule actually." As Monroe gets out of bed Avery continues "Anyway they made breakfast for uh you guys too."
Avery and Monroe leave the room and shut the door. The purple backpack is set against the wall.
A darkness surrounds the backpack.
The backpack is shrouded in pitch black darkness.
Black screen. Later, Lance hands Abraham a plate of food.
The four of them sit at a table eating. Abraham grumbles "It is WAY too early to be waking people up." Lance replies "Well you know what they say! The early bird gets the worm!"
Monroe says "But it's um five in the morning?" Avery responds "Five forty actually." Monroe looks at her.
Lance can be seen washing dishes. Abraham looks in the cabinets before grabbing a large cup.
Abraham gives Monroe the cup full of orange juice which looks massive in the latter's hands. Abraham says "Here." and Monroe exclaims "OUH- Thank you!" before walking off. Lance asks "Affogato can you take care of them? I'm gonna do chores with Abraham." Avery answers "Mmm... Mhm. He's still in the back bedroom right? And can you turn the generator on? The fridge is warm."
Avery enters the room Monroe is in as he is curled up with the big cup of juice. He asks "Oh. What are you in here for?" Avery answers "'Take care of you' Lance told me while they and your friend do chores."
Monroe mutters "Haha, that's funny. Usually Abraham does that." Avery responds "Yuuup. I know that one." Monroe lays down on the bed and says "Lately, I think about... um." Avery listens.
Monroe continues, "Dying. Being nothing, and then that's just it. Forever. And it happens to everyone. And this game..." Avery looks nervous.
Monroe mutters "Hah I don't know." A loud clunk scares Monroe but the whirring of the generator can be heard as the lights turn back on in the room.
The two of them look up at the lights. Avery responds "Anyway... I think, that if we keep our heads on right, we'll be okay.
Monroe takes a biiig sip from the cup before saying "I just feel... I don't know. Useless?" Avery answers "I get that. Lance is such a hard worker it gets difficult to keep up. All I do is sit around, moping about my..."
Monroe asks "Your what?" Avery responds "Oh forget it. It's not... I won't burden you with it.` The two of them both look moody.
Monroe says "Uh what I was saying before, about dying... I think about it a lot because um well... When I was just a little kid, both my mama and my big sister... had gotten lost in the forest... and my dad could never find them. So much for 'new opportunities' on Angel Island huh?"
He continues "What do they all feel now? Really nothing? Is that what's waiting for us too?" Avery looks sad and Monroe yelps "OH I- I'M- Is that TOO MUCH? Ah, I'm sorry!" Avery mutters "I..."
"If there's something you need to say, I'll listen. I'll try to." Monroe mutters "Oh... If you're sure... Thank you."
